My name is Damian Stan and I am from Baia Mare. I graduated high school this year and am going to study at University of Aberdeen, UK. At the Baccalaureate Exam I obtained a grade of 9.83 with a grade of 10 in Organic Chemistry and I want to study in the Biochemistry program.
I am passionate about chemistry because it explains a lot about the world around us, it fascinated me from the first lessons also because it is the science on which I want my future to be based. It is a challenge for me: it trains my mind and makes me think as deeply as possible about the different processes that take place around me, such as complex cellular respiration or photosynthesis. From the seventh grade I started to participate in the different editions of the national Olympics and competitions, where I received Special Mentions and I ended up being the 15th in my level.
Even though tuition is not paid in Scotland, the costs of a student in the UK are high, which my family cannot afford. I will have to work during my studies, but I still have the difference that I cannot cover. This funding will help me fulfill my dream and live my future for which the only obstacle would be money.
Thank you for your support!
