Almost two months ago, I embarked on one of the most anticipated adventures of my life: continuing my studies with a master's degree in Global Governance and Diplomacy at Oxford.
Even though I already feel part of a family, there are quite a few moments when the “impostor syndrome” sets in in my mind, making me wonder if I am ready for all the challenges of this program. Every time this happens, and I lose confidence in myself, I remember you, the ones who supported me unconditionally and who believe in my ability to accomplish great things. The thought of dozens of people living at home living the Oxonian dream through me gives me tremendous strength and motivates me to learn as much as possible about how to represent the country as a future diplomat.
Due to the intense pace, this quarter has passed like a flash, and I still haven't fully realized that this magical city will be my home for at least 9 months. Although I have a lot to read, everything seems to go faster when I work in a library like the one behind me, where I know that some of the most amazing minds have learned, and still learn today. Adapting to the British postgraduate education system has not been the easiest, but I am glad that I have managed to create a routine that balances the study with social opportunities. The courses I take this term are: Qualitative Research Methods, Global Governance and Diplomacy as well as Peacebuilding and Statebuilding. In each of them, I feel like a sponge eager to absorb as much information as possible from the amazing teachers. It is overwhelmingly beautiful to have access to so many resources and to be able to see your dream become more and more clear.
Every morning I wake up grateful that I am here. Without the experience of the campaign and without your help, I would not have been able to enjoy this dream, and this thought comes to my mind every time I go to classes on the streets full of history. Even though I was unable to raise the entire amount originally proposed, your contributions were the help I needed to settle here and cover the costs of moving. I will be eternally grateful for that.
I can't wait to come back with details after the end of the quarter! I promise to keep you posted on my next steps!
Thank you very much!
